A left handed drum set, intricate grooves, and influences from all corners of the world

Maxime's unique approach to drumming has earned him a reputation as an innovative and versatile musician. With a natural inclination to set up his drum set left-handed, Maxime's performances and recordings span across a diverse range of styles, from pop to Middle Eastern music, from jazz to rock, and beyond. His impressive career highlights include collaborations with renowned musicians such as Multi-Grammy Award winners Steve Vai, Paul Winter, and Eugene Friesen, Thelonious Monk Competition winners Tigran Hamasyan and Darren Barrett, Grammy Award Nominee singers Mayssa Karaa and Harloe, Hamilton and The Book of Mormon renowned musical director Cian McCarthy, and Multi-Platinum Selling Songwriter & Gold Recording Artist Matt Hartke, among many others. Maxime's exceptional talent and unique musical sensibilities have also led to several commissions for composing music for Meta, as well as producing for artists such as Indian artist RINI and Lithuanian artist Simona Smirnova.

Maxime has performed over 300 live concerts around the world, playing at prestigious venues such as the historical Taj Hotel in Mumbai, India, Berklee College of Music Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, the Blue Note Beijing and Shanghai’s JZ Club in China, The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory in Dallas (TX), New York’s Gramercy Theater, The World Bank in Washington D.C., and the Nancy Jazz Pulsation Festival in France.

Maxime's journey as a musician started in France, in a small city near the French Alps named Chambéry, and continued when he moved to Boston, MA in the Fall of 2014 to study at Berklee College of Music. His hard work and dedication paid off, and he was recognized with the Berklee Achievement Scholarship and the Avedis Zildjian Endowed Scholarship. Maxime's outstanding talent was also recognized by winning French competitions including the “Prix des Neiges“ from the Savoiexpo Foundation (2014) and the “Bourse de la Vocation“ (2015) from the Marcel Bleustein-Blanchet Foundation. Maxime eventually graduated from Berklee with the prestigious Artist Diploma in Fall 2016, after studying with renowned musicians like Dave DiCenso, Billy Kilson, Tia Fuller, David Fiuczynski, and others. Today, Maxime is the drummer for several critically acclaimed bands, including the fusion electronica band RINI, renowned Indian singer Shakthisree Gopalan, Lithuanian singer Simona Smirnova, Brazilian bass player Marcelo Maccagnan, Israeli composer Erez Aviram, and more recently, songwriter Harloe.

Maxime's passion for drumming is driven by his endless pursuit of creativity and exploration of rhythm. He draws inspiration from diverse musical traditions, including Latin, African, Indian, Middle Eastern, and beyond, creating contemporary sounds that are both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition. Maxime's commitment to exploring the fundamental elements of groove unifies heritage with innovation, resulting in a sound that is truly his own.

Maxime now lives in New York City, where he works as an in-demand drummer, percussion player, and producer. With his exceptional talent and passion for music, Maxime continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in drumming and beyond.
